I am such a rookie
So last night before Ryleigh went to bed she said "I can't smell very good" her nose is all stuffed up due to her cold. So I have her a little bit of Benadryl, not much because of course I am parnoid about all the cold medicines being bad for the kids and yes I do know that they are talking about the really little ones, but, what can I say. I put the Vick's Vapor stuff in her humidifier and she was asleep in no time. Faith to for some strange reason went to bed and didn't get out once. Before turning Mythbuster's off at 10 and going to sleep ourselves, Josh and I comment about how weird it is that we aren't moving one kid of the other to their own beds. That said we go to sleep. 11:26 PM I wake to someone crying, I am not sure who at this point, because I really don't funtion well being woken up before midnight, so I stumble down the hall and figure out the crying is coming from Ryleigh's room, she is sitting up in bed, sobbing. So I ask the first question any mom's going to ask, "did you throw up?" No she wails, "are you going to throw up?" NOOO she wails again. So I lay down next to her thinking she's had a bad dream or something, but she is not having it, she can't lay still, she is rolling around like she is in pain, she's sobbing, she's kicking her legs in a weird rythmic pattern, and at this point, I am starting to freak out, because she is usually a really good sleeper and someone laying down with her is a for sure way to get her to sleep. So I am sitting up and she is sobbing, she says something hurts, but can't tell me what, she still can be still. I am beginning to think she is having a siezure, but she doesn't have a fever, I call for Josh, who jump's out of bed and comes running. I am thinking how fast can my mom get her to sit with Faith if we have to take Ryleigh to the hospital. Josh doesn't know what to do so he goes to the bathroom. I am holding Ryleigh, and I use that term loosely because she can't lay still and she's sobbing and flailing around. During her flailing around I notice that she grabs for her "bits and pieces" I ask her if she has to go the bathroom and she says "YESSSS" so I take her to the bathroom and she does a marathon pee when she's done, we wipe and she's just standing there, so I ask her if she wants to go snuggle with Daddy and she nods yes and pad's down the hall after him. Listening to all the pee of course made me had to go, so I go to the bathroom and by the time I get to bed, Ryleigh is already asleep snuggled up next to Josh. So I was ready to take her to the hospital to use the bathroom, I can't even imagine the what the nurses and doctor's would of said in the break room after our visit.

Oh Heather, your story makes me smile. My Isabelle does that in the middle of the night all the time and it took us a while to figure it out too. She woke up screaming like that when she was 3 but now it's a little different. In fact last night I heard her door open, some little steps down the hall and then she was beside my bad whimpering...Isabelle go use the bathroom babe. Ok mom. And then she is back in bed sleeping. Silly girl.
That has me laughing so hard I've got tears. Sorry:0
- Isabella used to do that but she was having night terrors. It hasn't happened in a long time. First time totally freaked us out because she wouldn't respond to us at all.
