Should of Gone Swimming

You can't tell, but I am trying to take a picture of my elbow, if you could actually see my elbow you would see the HUGE bruise that covers all of it. I would take a picture of my other huge bruise, but that would so not be appropriate. I tried to get Faith to take a picture of my elbow, but she didn't want to, she usually dying to take pictures. Am I ever going to understand this kids?
So anyway, let me tell you about the bruise, it goes along so well with the bike ride we had earlier. Faith dubbed Saturday as "Family Day". Our options according to her were to go swimming or roller skating. Because the pool that we really like is up in Canada and the border has been so busy lately, we opted for roller skating.
Ryleigh was so excited to go roller skating, but once we got the skates on her she did not want to go, her skates were going in every direction but straight, well I actually I take that back, they went straight, just one forward and one straight back. I am usually quite coordinated, but with a crazy legged 3 year old balance precariously between my legs, I wasn't so coordinated and I was going down, I was trying hard not to land on her (which I did do the 2nd time we fell) that I went over backwards and landed elbow first, the my fist hit me in the ear (another bruise) and that made my whole body go CRUNCH, I actually heard it and then I landed the rest of the way on my bum (the inappropriate bruise). Needless to say we were both done skating after that, but of course I fell one more time trying to get Ryleigh to the side, that's when I actually landed on her squishing her fingers, poor little thing. I don't know how those kids do it, but when they don't want to do something and you are trying to carry them whether you are trying to help them or not, all their bones go mushy and they are just like trying to hold on to noodles and in this case noodles with roller skates on.
Ah, another "successful" family fun day for the Schmitt's!

OUCH!! I'm sorry you're bruised, but your story made me laugh just as hard as I did about the family biking story. ;o) (Maybe you could try taking a picture of yourself in a mirror so we can see your poor elbow. No pix of your bum, though, K?)

I feel your pain -- did the same thing with Hannah. As my hands were under her armpits and she went down, I had no way to break my fall. I actually thought, "So this is how people break arms!" as I hit the floor....

You're such a good mom! :)
